Another Challenge Begins

In the past there was 2008's Bacon Challenge, 2010's Mile Challenge and 2011's Apple Challenge.
After a lengthy hiatus, the mysterious and elusive Challenge Committee has reconvened and agreed upon a 2015 Challenge -- The Fitness Challenge.

The original proposal was 10,000 pushups over the course of the year -- 28 pushups a day (which actually works out to 10,220 in a year). Then, after some debate, there was talk of mixing it up and doing ab stuff or a 7 min. full body workout or otherwise. Being a fairly liberal Committee that's where thing wound up.

As in years past, it's a challenge, not a contest so really you can make this what you want. Do something for yourself. That said, if a little friendly competition emerges as we go along, that's fine too.

Here are suggested options for the Fitness Challenge, but as previously mentioned, it can be anything you conjure up. Just make it a challenge of the fitness variety:

  1. 28 pushups a day
  2. This New York Times "Scientific 7-Minute Workout" each day: http://goo.gl/f9yM9
  3. This New York Times "Advanced 7-Minute Workout" each day: http://goo.gl/yUaj1a
  4. Abs/Core Work each day (the details and amount can be up to you)
  5. Other (figure out your weakness and attack it)

So we've begun. If you happen to be interested in this Challenge contact us and we'll see about getting you a username/password on the site where we're tracking our progress.  Also, if you are participating and you'd like to blog some about fitness, or your journey on this Challenge we could arrange for that as well (maybe try to keep it PG-13 or less).

Alright, let's go!
